October 26 Blood sugar, status quoBlood sugar before breakfast a couple of days ago: 87.
I haven't been posting much here lately because nothing's been going on health-wise. Which is good. :) October 16 Blood sugarBlood sugar after lunch: 85 (3 Käsechüechli, 1 cup spinach and avocado salad with olive oil-lemon juice dressing, 1/2 cup fresh pineapple). October 03 This week's updateSeveral things in one:
1. Blood sugar was 84 following dinner on Thursday night: 1 big potato, 1 cup homemade pumpkin soup (starch), 1 cup endive salad with olive oil/lemon juice dressing, 2 thick slices of ham, 1 tsp. herb butter.
2. I had a sore throat for 2 days, on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was mostly just scratchy, although I couldn't sleep on Tuesday night becuse of it. I took Ricola herbal lozenges (sugar-free) as often as I felt like it, and that helped a lot. It was all better by Thursday, but now I've been sneezing and have a slightly stuffy/runny nose.
3. I went for a blood test this week, forgot the original appointment on Monday morning, but was able to go in on Monday afternoon instead. Got the results today:
Ferritin (iron) -- 20 (normal 10-310)
TSH -- 1.31 (normal 0.35 - 4.5), last time this was 7.9, so this is perfect now
FT4 -- 14.7 (normal 10.3 - 21.9), also perfect
FT3 -- 4.23 (normal 3.08 - 6.47), also perfect
The doctor also weighed me: 54.2 kilos, exactly the same as last time. And he told me that Dr. Engel had sent him a report in which it said that the inflammation of my thyroid was greatly reduced, which is good. So basically, it's in remission at the moment, but I still need to keep taking the thyroid hormone to keep it that way. |
